Connecting Heritage in New Mexico
We are a gathering place for Cherokee citizens, descendants, and families living in New Mexico. Our mission is to preserve and celebrate our rich Tsalagi language, culture, history, and community bonds far from our traditional homelands.

Our Community Journey
For generations, Cherokee citizens have traveled far beyond our historical boundaries in search of education, employment, and family. Yet, our connection to our shared fire—our Tsalagi identity—remains unbreakable, even across the dry plains and soaring peaks of New Mexico.
The New Mexico Cherokee Community was founded to serve as a digital and physical hearth. We organize quarterly meetings, language study groups, and craft workshops, ensuring that our elders can share wisdom, our children can hear our syllables, and our community can stay deeply rooted in Cherokee heritage while thriving in New Mexico.
